BrainLit’s mission is to sustain the natural rhythm of life by delivering personalized lighting, with our BioCentric Lighting™ environments. Light technology as it relates to health is a significantly underserved area, meanwhile light is a critical pillar for health – 20% of our genome is light dependent. Yet, in modern life we spend 90% of our day indoors and 25%+ of us are shift workers, operating in sub-par light conditions, which among other things is a critical reason why one in four American’s can’t sleep (one in five globally). The long term health consequences of circadian disruption are well known with the World Health Organization for instance, suggesting that shift work is a probable carcinogen. There is strong evidence to suggest organization like WHO will upgrade these statement in the coming years. BrainLit’s independent Scientific Advisory Board continuously feeds back information from the research community to our R+D team, so that BioCentric Lighting™ always leverage the most current thinking as it relates to light-for-health. I attach a broad ranging white paper on the applicability of BioCentric Lighting™ on human physiology (if this supports our application in anyway).
